![]() Available from: right-tool.com Product Catalog All KAT products are patented and have distinct safety and performance features. KAT offers a wide range of saw chain blades unmatched in the industry. The chains are manufactured exclusively for KAT by Oregon Saw Chain. The products are named after knights of the Round Table, or other medieval characters. so here's an introduction to our product line. To make you familiar with each product, the information below is provided on product features and specifications. Common Features
Chain. A unique feature of all chains is the full house design which simply means the chain circlet consists of consecutive left and right teeth--the teeth are not separated by skip links common to standard chainsaws. All blades have twice the amount of regular teeth resulting in the blade powering its way through the hardest of woods and other soft non ferrous materials. This important feature, combined with the speed of the angle grinder rotating at between 10,000 to 13,000 rpm's provides users with the most efficient and powerful cutting and shaping power tool accessory in the world. Should the blade hit a nail or piece of wire in wood, on most occasions it will cut through the obstruction. If not, the impact will cause the chain to stop while the discs rotate giving the user a warning to stop the angle grinder. This is a major safety feature which virtually eliminates kickback and binding. All our chains are easily sharpened with a 5/32" (4mm) chain saw file. Center hole sizes. Lancelot and Squire are available with three center hole sizes. For the American market the two most common are 5/8" (16mm) and 7/8" (22mm). For the European market they are 14mm and 22mm (7/8"). Part Numbering System King Arthur's Tools has a very simple part number coding system for our large cutters. For example, the first number is either a 3 or 4. 3 refers to Squire and 4 means Lancelot, the middle two numbers are the center hole size and the last two numbers are the number of teeth. So a 45822 is a Lancelot with 5/8" center hole and 22 teeth. A 31412 is a Squire with 14mm center hole and 12 teeth. The 14mm tools are primarily for European angle grinders. Please specify model, center hole and chain sizes when ordering. Used individually Lancelot and Squire fit most 4" (100mm), 4-1/2" (115mm) and European 125mm disc/angle grinders. Specifications: Models are available with 14mm (M14), 16mm (5/8") and 22mm (7/8") center holes and 6.35mm (¼") or 9.5mm (3/8") drive, full chain cutter sequence. Lancelot is 104mm (4-1/16") in diameter, Squire is 89mm (3-1/2").
Lancelot is the flagship of our product range and our best seller. It also won the Florida New Product of the Year Award in 1993. There are two different teeth sizes, 22 tooth (¼" pitch) and 14 tooth (3/8" pitch), each fitted between two patented 4" (100mm) discs. Either one works great fitted on its own on most 4" (100mm) and 4-1/2" (115mm) angle grinders. They cut with tremendous power, safety and control. Lancelot with 22 teeth removes and shapes material fast, leaving the surface with a finer finish than the workhorse 14 tooth model which rapidly hogs out the work with its larger teeth.
Feel more comfortable with a smaller blade? Squire has a 3-1/2" (89mm) diameter with either 18 teeth (1/4" pitch) or 12 teeth (3/8" pitch) and has a smaller kerf than Lancelot. Use the 12 tooth model for more aggressive removal and the 18 tooth for finer finish and detail. Note 1 Squire was designed to be used primarily in tandem combinations with Lancelot, but it can easily be used alone, if you specifically need it or are more comfortable with a smaller blade. Individually mounted, Squire will fit both 4" (100mm) and 4 1/2" (115mm) disc grinders. In tandem combinations with Lancelot, Squire will ONLY fit 4 1/2" (115mm) and 125 mm European disc grinders. Note 2 Keep this in mind, the 22 Lancelot has the same 1/4" pitch teeth as the 18 tooth Squire. The 14 tooth Lancelot has the same 3/8" pitch teeth as the 12 tooth Squire. Whether using Lancelot or Squire, one blade is fantastic for detail work but they're also excellent on their own for rapid wood removal, cutting and general shaping!
IMPORTANT: USING LANCELOT OR SQUIRE M14 (14mm) or 5/8" (16mm) BLADES AS A SINGLE ACCESSORY. When fitting either of the above blades, insure the grinder's threaded shaft diameter matches the blade center hole diameter. It is generally recommended that the manufacturer's backing plate/adapter is removed so that blade sits on the bottom flange of threaded shaft. There should be ample and sufficient distance and clearance for safe operation where the cutting teeth and the safety guard come closest. This method is especially recommended for grinders with oversize backing discs that will cause an interference to the depth of cut. Tighten securely with manufacturer's lock nut or with respective Universal Nut. If, however, blades touch safety guard, replace the manufacturer's backing plate, remount blade to sit on arbor and retighten. TANDEM COMBINATIONSDouble Up For More Power! Two Lancelots side by side or Lancelot paired with Squire
(photo below) will eat and shape wood faster than ever
before. For sheer brute wood removal there is no better
combo than two Lancelots.
